In the 7th Harry Potter book, there is a part where Vernon says something about "CVs"?

It is on page 34, and Vernon is saying "If we'd even seen CVs..." Is this an abbriviation for something, is it British slang? My hubby and I can't figure it out!

In the 7th Harry Potter book, there is a part where Vernon says something about "CVs"?
It stands for Curriculum Vitae. If they would have seen the curriculum vitae (s) or resumes of the wizards who would guard them, their mind would be more at ease. It's a reply to Harry's assurance that Hestia and Dedalus are more than capable to keep them safe.
Reply:I caught that too, and couldn't figure out what it could mean, noone in my house knew. :(
Reply:A CV is a 'curriculum vitae'... which is basically a resume. French-speaking people (well, at least in Quebec) use the term as well as the Brits. :)
Reply:Is it "Curriculum Vitae?" CV's are resumes for teachers.
Reply:i think it means like a resume type of thing.

that what i assumed
Reply:A CV is what you give prospective employers to show them your achievements, qualifications or previous experience.

The employers can then judge if you are qualified for the position.

Vernon is saying that he doesnt think the people assigned to protect him are qualified. He wants the one who is protecting the "muggle" prime mininster as a prestige thing!
Reply:Curriculum Vitae - we call it a resume.
Reply:i think it is like a warning of wizarding stuff.....possible right?
