Has ANYONE every worked for CVS ? How about WALGREENS ?

I NEED A JOB LIKE YESTERDAY - ive already worked for Walgreens, in my opinion they treat you like crap, the customers are great people but the store managers and exa's were horrible so i left. Now im considering CVS- even though i vowed never to go there (i hated it when it was still eckerd) ive only been inside eckerd/cvs like twice in my entire life- sumthin about it i just hate- Anyways If you have worked or do work for CVS can you tell me what the customer service clerk is expected to do ? how is the pharmacy ? (thats my major) how much do they start ? i live in FL and i herd 8 bucks - i know i can go to the website, but employers always tell you a bunch of Bull on the website and then you get there and U want to tell everyone off. THANX for your EXPERIENCED answers ♥

I worked at CVS in Texas. But I didn't work in the pharmacy section. Basically, CVS is all about customers. But then again, it's not "Customer is always right." You just have to be there to help customers. Just help them with whatever questions they have or if they're looking for something. Whatever crap. I love my customers and I always appreciate them. My coworkers are another story. I hated that place. I stayed there for 4 weeks and had to get the hell out of there. It's such a lonely job and the managers and supervisers are crap. They act busy running all around and never help you at the front (You'll be the only one at front). But they never really do any work either. I was scolded and told that I was doing bad job when I was really trying my hardest at helping people and keeping busy cleaning and organzing when it wasn't busy. I caught my superviser just sitting at the pharmacy section chit chatting away though, which was totally unfair, since that was the aho that had told me I wasn't taking my job seriously.

The personalities of the workers...I don't know, they hardly smile, especially the pharmacy people. I don't know...maybe just from a hard day at work, but they always have to pass by the front counter when walking out, and they always have a pissed off face.

They have cameras all over...it's to watch the customers, but mainly to watch the workers too. They spy on your every move. Their office is a spying room. Watching everything you do. They say CVS is like family, but BS, family don't look at eachother like their thieves. They check all your pockets and bag if you stole anything, every time you leave from work. If you are snacking on something or have a drink, you must leave it in sight of the camera, so the camera can capture it. If you have photos that you develope, you have to put it in the office, away from yourself because "you might steal it." You can't ring up family. You can't ring up friends. You can't ring up yourself. Which all makes sense, but just wanted to put it out there.

You can't touch the magazines at all unless you're organizing it, or else it's stealing and you will be fired. Since you're working at the front counter by yourself, you're also responsible for the shelves at the front. So you have to orgainize all of it and keep watch at the register. So if you're busy and you still have your shelves to keep keep, good luck. It has to be done by YOU before you are able to leave from work. The superviser and the manager's wayyy "too busy" to help you. They're so busy because they always have to take a break outside to smoke and eat. They are also doing this "Care card" or whatever where they kill millions and billions of trees because they're printing out all this BS coupons and crap that the customers hardly use. They use 1/5 of the coupons that prints out. Waste of paper. Who would shop there? It's so freaking expensive for everything. I feel so bad for those who spend over $50 there (that's not prescriptions).

I'm someone who works hard everywhere I go and all my coworkers enjoy working with me because I get the job done and I help everyone around. I only have to quit my previous jobs (4 jobs) because I had to transfer schools. So this is the first job that I had to quit because I hated the people and because they didn't appreciate me at all.

I remember the first week I was there, the superviser was running behind on all his work (because he was soooooooo busy), so I was being totally nice and stayed over an hour to help him finish his work too...HIS WORK. That idiot never appreciate it and had the nerve to tell me that I don't take my job seriously?

I guess it's just THAT store, but then again, THAT store was considered one of the best. What crap. All my customers always complain about how bad the supervisers and managers are, that they're so rude...which they are! :) The customers love me. Hahaha My last day there, my mom asked if I had to return the uniform shirts, I told her I was going to go home and burn the shirts. :p

I hated it there. :) And I was so proud to walk out of there my last day.
Reply:tru, that place sucks, the people working there are the biggest lowlifes, they really do hassle you with thge coupons. dont work there! Report It

Reply:I worked at Wags and our store manager and EXA were great. The manager was a bit of a cheapsake, and you would sometimes have to go to the pharmacy supervisor to get certain items, but he was always very helpful. In retail, it really depends on the people and store. Since I'm a pharm intern, I'm always treated nicely. You are not considered to be a pharm intern until you have started pharmacy school in IL. Once you start, a P-1 gets paid about $14.50 an hour. However, if you are not, certified techs start at $11 per hour and uncertified techs start at $10 per hour.
Reply:i actually work for walgreens, and honestly people are people some are nice and some are mean, they are everywhere you go and you dont know what you are gonna get. the store i work at has an amazing store manager and i love the EXA they are both super nice and everything. i also live in florida and i have a bigger problem with the customers since most and senior citizens they sure do get diffensive (sp?) over like 12 cents but thats just how some places are. you cant hate a company because of the people because they dont represent every store out there.
