Can you give me a review comparing against Opti-free or renu multiplus
Has anyone tried the cvs brand of contact lens solution?
I have not used that particular product, but I have used lots of CVS products. If you compare the ingredients side by side you will often see that they are EXACTLY the same. The CVS is just cheaper because you are not paying for the "brand".
Reply:Honestly, I recommend that you stay away from generic brands. They are watered down and dont clean as well as Opti-free. There is a reason why they are cheaper. Personally, my favorite brand is optifree - my eyes were sensitive to renu.
Reply:The CVS brand is usually a brand product purchased in bulk by CVS from the manufacturer. It is sold for less because it does not contain a brand name on the label. It is unknown what brand it is because it obviously won't say the brand used to put the generic label on it. The Optometrist I work for suggests that if you switch brands you only do so with a new pair of lenses. Different manufacturers use different chemicals in their products. Use caution though because if you are accustomed to a certain brand and you switch some people have been known to have reactions from doing so. I have worked as an opthalmic tech for 10+ yrs and many patients ask this question.
